I haven't tested it with any other characters, this is simply what I happened to stumble upon. When you get there, the quest objectives become updated, giving you credit for examining the crime scene and giving you a new objective to 'Gain Access to Hjerim.'Īt this point, you should be able to either pick the lock or go back and talk to Jorleif. After talking to her, walk to the doorstep of Hjerim, the house that you can eventually purchase. If you cannot examine the crime scene, proceed to the Hall of the Dead and talk to Helgird. However, I believe I found a way to progress the quest line.

I went to the Jarl's steward to tell him my suspicions of the Court Mage. Went into the abandoned house, found all the clues including two of the journals and the Necromancer's Amulet. I also had problems with this quest & not being able to examine the crime scene. The reason the blood on the ice glitch is still around is because of the way skyrim loads up. Started Blood on the Ice quest, and investigated the body found by the graveyard.

This quest is supposedly highly buggy from what i've read of others' posts.Īnyone have any idea on how to kickstart this thing or a console command to get the quest activated in your journal somehow or whatever.
